Controller is an electrical device that allows the user to control other devices in a desired way. The controller can control a mechanical devise (such as a Servo Motor, Linear motor) or another electrical device (such as Driver, amplifier and more).Motion Controllers designed to control motion devices (motors) and can come in two basic ways of operation: Centralized, Distributed. A centralized controller can control more than one motor from a single controller (Multi Axes). Distributed control uses a controller for each axis and synchronization is done through a communication line. Medital can offer both type of control and even a mixture of the two.
A driver, is a device that amplifies the motion signals from the Motion controller and bring the signals to the motors needs. Some drivers have limited control capabilities; some controllers have built-in drivers.
